Hi, I’m setting up my trip to Northern Europe and looking for ideas about 4-5* hotels near Maastricht and Ghent. I have a spinal cord injury and am a full-time manual chair user. Let me know!
Hello,
This is my first time on this forum. I am hoping for travel tips where walking can be an issue.
I’m 69 and while not ready for a knee surgery yet, my knees can sometimes do very well for slow 30-minutes walks, and somedays they are too inflammed and resting is better. It is hard to predict so having flexibility in one place seems reasonable. I hope to navigate as comfortable a trip as possible, despite my limitations. I’m planning for end May/start of June to Valencia, Spain.
Thanks in advance
Lisa

Does anyone have suggestions for wheelchair-accessible ground transportation in New Orleans?
I will be in New Orleans, Lousiana, from April 15-19 for a professional conference. I’m having trouble finding wheelchair-accessible transportation from the airport to our hotel (Marriott in downtown New Orleans) for my spouse and me (both of us use power wheelchairs) and our aide. Ideally, we would like to travel together in 1 vehicle, but can split up if needed. As long as it’s not sky-high, the cost is not a big barrier as long as it’s reliable.
I’m particularly concerned about this after transportation arrangements we made for us through Z-Trip in Kansas City, MO, when I was there for a different conference. After reserving a ride more than a month in advance and then re-confirming the ride a few days before, when we got there they said they had no vehicle for us and could not help us, even though they agreed we had reserved a ride with them. We spent 3 hours in the evening, after work hours, trying to arrange transportation. Finally, a van rental place took pity on us and drove us out of the goodness of their heart. But, I don’t want to rely on such unpredictable kindness again.
