Aloft Detroit at the David Whitney is not your usual chain hotel. Though it’s situated in the historic David Whitney Building, a historic landmark dating back to 1915, the hotel is a thoroughly modern affair. There’s the W XYZ Detroit Bar, which offers cocktails and music, and the Re:mix lounge for a casual hangout place. Kids can enjoy Camp Aloft, which gives those under 12 special bedding, fun food and other treats. Dogs under 40 pounds also get the special Aloft treatment, with a branded bed and bowl and treats and toys. Rooms include a coffee maker, bottled water fridge and microwave (upon request).

Mobility accessible features include roll-in showers.
